Inside An Enchanting And Cosy Modern Farmhouse Haven Designed For Two And A Furry Friend

An exquisite fusion of earthy colours, assorted textures and contemporary fixtures form the essence of this charming Modern Farmhouse dwelling. Warm wood tones paired with soothing shades of blues and greens highlights a harmonious contrast against the pristine white background. Curved edges add a tad of softness to the space, giving a perfect balance to the clean cut design of the contemporary fixtures and textured furnishings. An incredible sense of cosiness and serenity emanates from the communal area, fostering an inviting space for bonding activities with loved ones.  A display of artsy collectibles on the open shelves reflects a vibrant personality and an artistic flair, complementing the luscious potted greenery that breathes life into the space. Woven pendant lights above the Suar wood dining table impeccably anchors the space — creating a level of symmetry, showcasing quintessential Farmhouse elements. Embracing a timeless appeal, classic board-and-batten cabinetry is seen throughout the home, adding depth and dimension. At the heart of the home, hexagon patterned floor tiles serve as the main feature in contrast to the neutral colour palette of the kitchen cabinetry. Upon entry to the tranquil setting of the master bedroom, a gorgeous shade of forest green textured wall creates a phenomenal blend with light wood tones and understated lighting — turning the spotlight on a refined yet cosy atmosphere. A cohesive theme of earthy shades in the bathrooms exude an organic feel and a sense of peaceful bliss amongst nature.

Interior Designer’s Thoughts

The design brief was to have a Modern Farmhouse interior style for their home. The homeowners needed a space that suits both their lifestyle and the comfort of their furry friend. Hence, the open layout concept was proposed to cultivate an environment where they are able to intermingle with loved ones and for their pet to roam around freely. As art enthusiasts, a curated display of decor items from their travels and personal memorabilia can be seen in the communal area, which is a great form of conversation starter and adds character to the space. To amplify Farmhouse elements, a barn door was installed in one of the rooms that is dedicated to a home office. For the kitchen area, the interior designer suggested glass sliding doors with black framing, which mimic traditional French door design. To create a segregation between the kitchen and communal area, bold patterned floor tiles were overlaid which adds visual interest to the space.
