Inside An Enthralling Lounge Bar That Reflects Contemporary Culture

Brimming with a bold character, this snazzy home lounge bar distinguishes itself as a remarkable work of art — equipped with a full functionality of a commercial bar with an Art Deco Industrial design. Leading to the entrance of the basement, an illustration of pop icons sets the tone of the space in attribution to artistic influences. Giving a nod to the creative expressions of subcultures in New York, a striking graffiti art mural introduces a compelling twist to the blend of styles. Keeping practicality in mind, every corner is made to maximise form and function. Adorned with a curated line of vintage collectibles, industrial pendant lights and the curves of the ceiling design captures the essence of timeless allure and modern elegance. The open concept layout cultivates an inviting and casual setting that is an ideal spot for loved ones and guests to relax and unwind. An impeccable fusion of rich textures and tactiles adds softness to the masculine nature of the overall interior, creating a harmonious balance.

Interior Designer’s Thoughts

The homeowner requested an Industrial interior style for their home lounge bar to match with its existing rugged theme as it is located at the basement. Originally, it was used as a gym cum entertainment space and it has been converted into a full fledged lounge bar where they often spend time to relax and host gatherings. As the homeowner travels often for work, his passion for wine and alcohol grew into a huge collection over the years. The sliding door of the entrance doubles up as a display rack to maximise the space. The interior designer suggested designing the counter in the form of the homeowners’ initials to symbolise the logo of a commercial bar. The curvy false ceiling on both sides are also planned in a way to accommodate LED lighting effects to highlight the sofa area and ceiling fan, while maintaining part of the original ceiling with the exposed beams and structure. It also synchronized with the curve counter at an angle. Dark wood tones with a textured stone laminate were selected to achieve a masculine and monochrome feel. Chester sofa and classic bar stool with a mix of vintage decor pieces are imported to match with the overall theme.
