The homeowners were keen on having a balinese design with a modern twist for their family home. The home was thoughtfully designed to follow the Vastu Shastra guide which is meant to promote positive energy and harmony. As they often host and have family activities together, the media room serves as a spot for movie nights while the living room caters for various activities with loved ones. The curved counter was placed in front of the lounging area for easy access to drinks whenever they have guests. The interior designer suggested building a wood slat partition to create a subtle separation between the media and living room. As cooking plays a central part of their daily lives, the kitchen has been reconfigured according to the energetic guidelines of the home. The wide open windows allow ample sunlight to enter, balancing the muted tones and warm lighting. As the owners work from home occasionally, a compact window was built in the designated office which makes the space feel less constrained as this also allows light to enter. The interior designer suggested a walk-in wardrobe in the master bedroom as this allows separation between the bathroom and resting area.
